Chelsea News: Chelsea face another warning in pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen director Rudi Voller has warned Chelsea that Kai Havertz will not be sold on the cheap and will remain at the club for at least another couple of weeks.

The Blues are believed to have made signing the Germany international their primary target, having already added Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to their attacking ranks.

Leverkusen value Havertz at £81.5m and Voller will not consider cashing in for anything less, even during a period of financial uncertainty for clubs.

The 60-year-old has also informed Chelsea that the in-demand attacker will see out the rest of Bayer’s Europa League campaign, which resumes on Thursday with a last-16 second leg against Rangers.

“It is set in stone. There is no new stance,” he told German outlet Kicker when asked if Leverkusen will consider selling Havertz early.

“There will also be no ‘corona bonus’. No matter who the player is.”

Kai Haverz is desperate to join Chelsea as soon as possible but Bayer Leverkusen has told their young forward that he is staying put for their Europa League campaign, reports Bild.

Talks continue between the Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, with a fee agreement expected to be reached in the region of €80-90m.

But Leverkusen’s decision means Havertz would not be free to move to England until the third week of August.

Chelsea’s domestic campaign concludes on Saturday when they take on London rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Chelsea News: Chelsea face another warning in pursuit of Kai Havertz, Chelsea make contact with Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre

Kai Havertz’s Germany teammates Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger have reportedly convinced the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder to join Chelsea this summer.
The Blues have been given the green light to press ahead with plans to sign the 21-year-old after securing Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.

Chelsea have already brought in Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer, and a third deal to sign Havertz is thought to be nearing its conclusion after the German international expressed his desire to leave Leverkusen last week. reports that his compatriots Werner and Rudiger have been encouraging him to move to Stamford Bridge, selling him on the club’s vision under manager Frank Lampard.

Havertz is now keen to push through a deal by as early as next week, although the two clubs must first agree a fee for the attacking midfielder.

Chelsea are also understood to be looking at a new goalkeeper, left-back and centre-back as they plan a big-spending summer despite the financial impact of coronavirus.

Chelsea News: Chelsea face another warning in pursuit of Kai Havertz, Chelsea make contact with Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre

Chelsea have opened talks with Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen over a summer switch to Stamford Bridge, according to a report.
The Blues are on the lookout for a new number one due to doubts over Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was again dropped by Frank Lampard on the final day of the Premier League season.

Ter Stegen is widely considered to be Chelsea’s top choice to succeed Kepa, while Manchester United’s Dean Henderson and Andre Onana of Ajax are two other options.

Spanish outlet Cadena Ser claims that the West London outfit have taken the first step towards signing the 28-year-old by reaching out to his camp.

Chelsea’s rumoured approach comes in the same week that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu told Ter Stegen that he must accept a salary cut if he is to stay at Camp Nou.

Germany international Ter Stegen, who finished second to Alisson Becker in FIFA’s Best Goalkeeper award last year, is also supposedly a target for Bayern Munich.

Ben Chilwell to demand Chelsea move this week despite promising future in Leicester city

Ben Chilwell is set to tell Leicester this week he wants to quit for Chelsea, according to The Mirror.

Frank Lampard is determined to sign a new left-back this summer and has earmarked Chilwell as his top target for the position in his squad.

Chelsea Transfer: Chilwell to demand Chelsea move, Chelsea target Oblak not for sale,Chelsea offer Henderson £170k-a-week deal

Although Chilwell is under contract until 2024, it is understood he sees his future at Stamford Bridge and will demand the move to Stamford bridge.

The Blues will have to fork out a significant fee for the England international, with the Foxes set to demand around £80million.

Atletico Madrid president insists Chelsea target Oblak is not available for sale

Chelsea Transfer: Chilwell to demand Chelsea move, Chelsea target Oblak not for sale,Chelsea offer Henderson £170k-a-week deal

Chelsea target Jan Oblak is not for sale, insists Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, who insists interest in “the best goalkeeper in the world” is not strange.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has described Jan Oblak as the “best goalkeeper in the world” and has told Chelsea to look elsewhere for a new number one.

The Blues are believed to have added Oblak to a two-man transfer wishlist, along with Ajax’s Andre Onana, as they seek a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea, who have already brought in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of next season, were said to have been confident about their chances of signing the Slovenia international.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with the 27-year-old of late, who would reportedly cost a record-breaking £109 million.

“I always say that Oblak has a contract with Atletico and is the best goalkeeper in the world. It is not strange that he has offers from other great teams,” Cerezo told Marca.
“I say the same as always. Oblak has a contract, he is an Atletico player, period. We have many players, our squad is the club’s main asset. Oblak is a magnificent player and in his position, unquestionably, there is no one to beat him right now.

“For me, Oblak – and I speak as an amateur – is the best goalkeeper in the world. Regarding [Thibaut] Courtois, he is another great goalkeeper of those in the world and fortunately, both have played for us and with both we have been champions in many trophies.”

Chelsea ready to swoop with Henderson seeking Manchester united guarantees, offers £170k-a-week deal

Chelsea Transfer: Chilwell to demand Chelsea move, Chelsea target Oblak not for sale,Chelsea offer Henderson £170k-a-week deal

Dean Henderson is looking for Guarantees regarding his future from Manchester United, according to the Mirror, who report Chelsea are ready to swoop if they don’t come.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson a lucrative contract worth £170k a week to make the switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The shot-stopper enjoyed a stellar 2019-20 campaign on loan at Sheffield United – keeping 13 Premier League clean sheets – although Henderson’s long-term future at Old Trafford remains unclear

Current United number one David de Gea has come under increased scrutiny for his performances this term, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has kept faith in the Spaniard and Henderson will supposedly seek pastures new if he is not guaranteed regular game time for the Red Devils.

With Chelsea believed to be in the market for a new goalkeeper following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s troublesome campaign, the Mirror reports that Frank Lampard has identified Henderson as a priority target.

The report claims that the Blues could have to fork out £55m to secure the Englishman’s signature, and Chelsea would be willing to offer Henderson a weekly salary of £170k per week at Stamford Bridge – over four times what he currently earns at Man United.

The Red Devils are supposedly ready to hold talks with Henderson’s entourage within the next few days – where the two parties are expected to discuss improvements to Henderson’s current £35k-a-week deal.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in Henderson, who is under contract at Old Trafford until 2022.

Chelsea make breakthrough over Willian contract talks

Chelsea have reportedly made an important breakthrough in their contract talks with winger Willian.
The 31-year-old is currently due to leave the club at the end of this month when his existing deal comes to an end, having failed to agree terms over an extension with the Blues.

Willian remains keen to stay at Stamford Bridge but has been holding out for a three-year contract, whereas Chelsea have only been willing to offer two years.

However, Sky Sports News claims that they have now been able to make progress in talks and that Chelsea are now confident of keeping the Brazilian attacker.

Willian had been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after revealing his preference to stay in London, while Barcelona, Manchester United and Inter Miami have also reportedly asked to be kept up to date with any developments.

The winger has scored 11 goals and created nine more in 47 appearances across all competitions this season.

Chelsea officially open Havertz talks with Bayer Leverkusen

Chelsea have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of Kai Havertz.

As reported by Standard Sport on Monday Chelsea were expected to ramp up their pursuit of the Germany international following their qualification for the Champions Leauge.
And the Guardian report that talks have now begun between the clubs, with a deal expected to be agreed in the region of £70m.

Rodgers ‘relaxed’ over Chilwell future in Leicester city amidst Chelsea interest

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted he feels “relaxed” over Ben Chilwell’s future amid speculation linking him with Chelsea.

The 23-year-old is understood to be one of Frank Lampard’s top targets this summer as the Blues eye a summer spree and the Foxes’ missed out on Champions League qualification, perhaps weakening their position in negotiations.

But when asked about Chelsea and Man City’s interest, Rodgers says he is unmoved by their interest in the left-back.

“It is something I am quite relaxed on,” he said. “I am fortunate we have a talented group of players which I am sure will interest some.

“All we can offer is a wonderful environment to come and play , develop , work in and improve as a player. We will see where it goes from there over the course of the off-season.”

Chelsea pick victory over wolves to retain fourth position, qualify for Champions league

Mason Mount sent Chelsea into next season’s Champions League with a sumptuous free-kick and an assist for Olivier Giroud in the Blues’ 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves.

Mount’s inch-perfect dead-ball strike put Chelsea ahead in first-half stoppage time, before the 21-year-old teed up Giroud for a fine finish less than three minutes later.

Those two goals sealed Chelsea a fourth-placed finish in Frank Lampard’s maiden campaign at the Stamford Bridge helm.

The 33-year-old Giroud became the oldest man to score in five consecutive Premier League starts, swiping that record from Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.

Wolves’ defeat meant the Molineux men failed to finish sixth, with Tottenham sneaking ahead of them instead with their draw at Crystal Palace.

England midfielder Mount proved his huge value to Lampard’s Chelsea yet again, toasting his 51st appearance of the season with a man-of-the-match turn.

Mount has become Chelsea’s first academy graduate to make more than 50 appearances in all competitions in his debut senior campaign at the club.

The versatile creative talent left his most important league contribution to last, however, as the west Londoners finally rubber-stamped Champions League qualification.

Back in November, Mount posted a social media video of his younger self scoring a free-kick in Chelsea academy training, and talking through his dead-ball style.

“I try to base my free-kick on Ronaldo, hit the ball by the valve, and it moves; that’s all you do, top corner,” said the fresh-faced Mount in that throwback clip.

That’s all Mount did with his free-kick against Wolves on Sunday. But even though the richly-talented midfielder has been making dead-eye dead ball finishes look easy all his life, his virtuoso performance here carries major repercussions for the Blues.

Timo Werner was on hand to watch his new team-mates seal that Champions League berth for next term, and the Germany striker will now be even more excited about what is in store after his £54million RB Leipzig switch.

Champions League qualification will doubtless boost Chelsea’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz, and the further recruits that the Blues will certainly chase this summer.

Lampard’s bold move to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga for veteran Willy Caballero not only paid off as the Blues pulled off a clean sheet – but could also offer another sign of Chelsea’s intent to seek a new goalkeeper this summer.

Caballero performed adeptly as the Blues hit back from their 5-3 midweek humbling at Liverpool to shut out Wolves.

But at the age of 38 he is obviously not Chelsea’s long-term option, and Lampard is not hiding his dissatisfaction with Kepa’s form.

For the day itself Caballero fitted the bill however, and could now well retain his place for the FA Cup final against Arsenal.

At the death of a gritty first-half devoid of gilt-edged chances for either side, the Blues took control.

First Mount stepped up and whipped home a fine free-kick, then he played in Giroud for the Frenchman’s astute finish.

Not only did Giroud clip the ball away from Rui Patricio, the in-form hitman then hustled around Wolves skipper Conor Coady to angle home on the slide.

Chelsea welcome Timo Werner to stamford bridge

New Chelsea signing Timo Werner has landed in London as he prepares to begin life at Stamford Bridge… and Kai Havertz approves.

Chelsea have this week been in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over their star man. Standard Sport understands the 21-year-old is keen to join Chelsea… and his latest Instagram activity appears to confirm that.

Werner posted a picture of him at a London airport, with Chelsea concluding their Premier League campaign at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, and Havertz ‘liked’ the image.

Lampard and sqad reaction as Chelsea made their way to champions league

Lampard believes finishing in the top four should help recruitment for next season, but for now he is focusing on Arsenal next Saturday.

Lampard says Giroud ‘has to take all of the credit’ for his performances since January. ‘He has always been big in the training ground and the dressing room, players love playing with him, so I’m delighted to have him’.

Lampard says Azpilicueta has set the standard this season, and leads by example every day. The boss then thanks the Chelsea support, who he wishes could have been here today to celebrate a good end to the league campaign.

The boss’s final word goes to Pedro, who Lampard confirms has played his last league game for Chelsea. The Spaniard was serenaded in the dressing room afterwards, and Lampard is grateful for his professionalism and quality throughout this season.

Pulisic tweeted “Super proud of my first season in the @premierleague Secured a top 4 finish to qualify for Champions League. Even though it wasn’t my day today, the guys pulled through”

Azpilicueta tweeted “Top 4 finish! 🙌🏾Blue heart That’s what we’ve been working for all season”

Mason Mount shows his excitement in his tweet “Top 4 secured, what a way to finish off the league! About time one of them went in”

Chelsea shows confident over Kai Havertz deal even if Champions League bid fails

Chelsea are reportedly confident of pulling off a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz this summer even if they are unable to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Blues are currently fourth in the Premier League table and know that a point against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon would guarantee themselves a spot in the top four.

A defeat against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would open the door for Leicester City, though, with the Foxes taking on third-placed Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.

Previous reports had suggested that Frank Lampard’s side would have to secure Champions League football for next season in order to sign Havertz this summer.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the capital giants are confident of pulling off the deal even if they fail to book a spot in Europe’s leading competition for the 2020-21 campaign.

The newspaper claims that Chelsea are determined to make the Germany international their third attacking signing of the summer, having already completed moves for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

Havertz has allegedly already agreed terms on a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea weighing up summer move for Manchester city’s John Stones

Chelsea are reportedly considering a summer approach for Manchester City centre-back John Stones.

The 26-year-old has only made 16 Premier League appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, having fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Stones is in the final two years of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, meanwhile, and there have been suggestions that he could leave the Citizens in search of pastures new.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea have identified the former Barnsley youngster as a potential signing during this summer’s transfer window.

The report claims that Frank Lampard’s side have internally discussed the possibility of signing Stones as they look to bring a new central defender to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Arsenal and Newcastle United have also been mentioned as potential suitors for a player who has won two Premier League titles, two EFL Cups and one FA Cup during his time in Manchester.

Juventus keep hope of signing Jorginho in bargain deal

Juventus are reportedly waiting to see whether Chelsea qualify for next season’s Champions League before launching an offer for Jorginho.

The Italy international has been strongly linked with a move to the Old Lady in recent months, with Chelsea thought to be open to the idea of selling him during this summer’s transfer window.

According to Tuttosport, Juve are interested in the 28-year-old but will wait to see whether the Blues quality for the 2020-21 Champions League before making an official bid.

The report claims that Juve are of the opinion that it will be ‘easier’ to sign the midfielder if Frank Lampard’s side miss out on Europe’s premier competition, meaning that he could be available in a ‘bargain’ deal.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League table, one point clear of fifth-placed Leicester City ahead of the final round of top-flight fixtures on Sunday afternoon.

The London giants know that a draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers would be enough to make the top four, but a defeat would open the door for Leicester, who welcome third-placed Manchester United.

Arsenal confident of Willian deal despite despite rivalry from Manchester United

Premier League outfit Arsenal are optimistic of completing a deal to sign Willian, according to ESPN Brazil.

The Chelsea man is open to staying at Stamford Bridge but only if the club agree to hand him a new three-year deal.

Manchester United are also monitoring developments at Chelsea, but the Gunners believe they are leading the race with Willian happy and settled in London.

Chelsea have tried to tempt the Brazil international to stay with the offer of a two-year extension but he is looking for a longer deal.

Chelsea to complete and announce Kai Havertz deal soon

Kai Havertz wants to join Chelsea – and according to Leroy Sane, the Bayer Leverkusen star may already be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Sane told reporters: “It’s good for Chelsea, that they signed two German top talents with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz this summer.”

Havertz returns to Leverkusen training but still pushing for Chelsea move

Kai Havertz joined his Bayer Leverkusen team-mates as they returned to training in preparation of the Europa League’s return next month, report Sky Sports.

The midfielder remains keen to join Chelsea, however, having told the Gerrman club he wants to leave this summer.
While Havertz was reportedly one of the first players to emerge onto the training pitch, Leverkusen are reportedly willing to sell with just two years remaining on the 21-year-old’s contract.

Leverkusen expect Havertz to play against Rangers in two weeks’ time, however.

Reports elsewhere claim that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the Germany international.

Chelsea in hunt for Atletico Madrid defender Gimenez

Chelsea are monitoring Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, according to The Telegraph.

Frank Lampard has already made additions further up the field this summer and will turn his attention to the defence once Kai Havertz is over the line.

It comes after Jamie Carragher warned: “You see a lot of centre halves at Chelsea without seeing one really outstanding one, those are the areas that if they are going to challenge Liverpool and Man City they’ll have to rectify in the summer.
“They are the worst team in the league defending corners. This is a massive problem for Chelsea.”

Chelsea go for goalkeeper Henderson, promised to double wages

Chelsea are looking to bring Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson to Stamford Bridge next season, report the Manchester Evening News.

Frank Lampard and Chelsea have reportedly promised to double the Englishman’s wages should he sign after an impressive season on loan with Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, the Mail have also reported United are set for sit down talks with Henderson next week.

Latest update on Kai Havertz’ Chelsea deal

Chelsea are making progress in their move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz and Frank Lampard is increasingly confident of landing the 21-year-old.

Lampard has identified Havertz as one of his top transfer targets and reports in Germany suggest he has agreed personal terms on a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Havertz is valued at around £70million.

An agreement is yet to be reached between Chelsea and Leverkusen but the Blues have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Havertz ahead of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and Lampard is closing in on a deal to make him the latest exciting young addition to his squad at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea, who are on course to secure a Champions League spot and will face Arsenal in the FA Cup Final, have already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech for next season.

Lampard is also targeting defensive reinforcements and possibly a new goalkeeper, with question marks over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

latest update on Declan Rice as West Ham set to retain the midfielder

David Moyes says it would take “Bank of England money” to prise Declan Rice from West Ham this summer and that he has no intention of letting the midfielder go.

London rivals Chelsea are keen on bringing Rice back to the club which released him aged 14 as Frank Lampard looks to address his leaky defence ahead of next season.

Moyes, however, sees Rice as a vital part of his plans – alongside Tomas Soucek – going forward and wants to see him take the armband from captain Mark Noble when he retires in the years to come. However, the Scot did concede that the Hammers could face a big decision should someone like Chelsea make a move.

“I’m confident he will be here [next season] because he’s under contract,” Moyes said of Rice’s future. “But like anything else, whatever club you’re at even the biggest clubs sometimes sell their best players because they get the right value.

“But my intention is not to sell Declan at all, my intention is to keep him. But we can’t stop other clubs making offers, but the truth is we’ve had no offers or nothing, nobody has come to us.

“He’s a really good player and I see him helping us, and I hope he sees what we are trying to do. We’re going to try and add better players and add things to it which would make him excited about being at West Ham in the future.”

“If somebody then turns up and offers you a bundle-load of cash then that’s a club decision, but if you sign a five-year deal anywhere… if you sign a five-year deal with your company then you know you’re probably there for five years, it’s no different for football players unless somebody comes along and poaches you.

“My plan is, you know what I think of Declan, I think he is a future captain of West Ham going forward. When Mark Noble comes to an end then hopefully it will be Declan Rice, so we’ve no intention of letting him go. If it does come it will need to be the Bank of England money.”

Frank Lampard wants Kepa Arrizabalaga to prove he can succeed at Chelsea

Frank Lampard has challenged Kepa Arrizabalaga to become the goalkeeper who defines his new era at Chelsea.

The Blues paid a record £72million for a keeper when bringing Kepa to west London from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.

The 25-year-old is yet to convince manager Lampard that he is Chelsea’s long-term keeper however, with the Blues running the rule over a number of potential summer recruits.

Now technical director at Stamford Bridge, Petr Cech excelled in goal during Lampard’s trophy-laden playing pomp with the Blues – and the current Chelsea boss wants Kepa to build a similar legacy.

Asked what qualities he wants from his goalkeeper, Lampard said: “I think clearly you want them to be talented to keep balls out of the net; it is old school but it’s the first and foremost job in what a goalkeeper should keep closest to their heart.

“The idea of clean sheets, it’s not always culpable on them, of course. For a keeper to have a real desire and talent to produce that.

“But in the modern day they are even more involved than ever. To use their feet, to be a personality… all-round ability which you see with the top-level goalkeepers in the world.

“We were fortunate to see at Chelsea that we had ones we can certainly say were part of huge eras for the club.

“That has to be Kepa’s desire, to be that person for this club and be a goalkeeper in his own right to say that he’s a huge part of a successful team.

“It’s not just on Kepa of course, but in his own way that is what he has to believe and work towards.”

Frank lampard wants great potential from Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum Hudson-Odoi is yet to start for Chelsea since football’s resumption, with the 19-year-old still seeking top sharpness after injury concerns.

Lampard reiterated his desire to see the richly talented England forward fulfil his great potential at Chelsea, however, even amid this summer’s squad revamp.

“I’ve spoken about Callum a lot, he needs to keep training at the highest level, which is actually what I’ve seen him doing, particularly in the last week or 10 days,” said Lampard.

“In the two games he’s come on he’s had good impacts, in the last two performances, and that’s the way he needs to continue.

“He’s a young player with great talent, great potential, and I want to see that potential come through.”

Lampard hopes to have Pedro and Willian available for both the FA Cup final and Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Spain winger Pedro and Brazil forward Willian both signed short-term contract extensions to complete the delayed campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The experienced duo are out of contract this summer, with Pedro expected to join Roma and Chelsea still talking to Willian about a possible new deal.

Chelsea will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final on August 1 before travelling to Munich for the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie on August 8.

Chelsea trail Bayern 3-0 from their hefty first leg loss at Stamford Bridge in February, but Lampard is still intent on taking the strongest possible squad to Germany next month.

“I have a presumption that they will do, I don’t want to say something that I get wrong, because I’m probably looking at Liverpool and Wolves ahead of anything else.

“But thanks for reminding me, I’ll make sure on that!

“We’ve obviously seen the value of not just Willian on the pitch in this restart, Pedro hasn’t played so much, but the value of their experience.

“So I clearly would hope they stay with us right until the end, I think that would be the thing that the club and players want.”

Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea close to sealing Havertz deal

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Kai Havertz, according to The Athletic.

The Blues were the only club willing to the asking price. The Blues are reportedly ready to spend €80m after add-ons to land the Bayer Leverkusen man, who is nearing an agreement on personal terms ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.

Havertz’s camp are reportedly waiting for a short period to see if other potential moves emerge, but as things stand it is a one-horse race.

Chelsea Transfer News: Willian to sign only 3 years new contract as Arsenal and Tottenham waiting for the call

Chelsea winger Willian says he would ‘sign the contract tomorrow’ if the club offered him a new three-year deal, as time runs out on his spell in West London.

Willian started and played 80 minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester United, with the 31-year-old having remained a key part of the first team with 46 appearances for Chelsea this season under Frank Lampard.

But Chelsea’s longstanding protocol of limiting the contracts of players over 30 looks set to see the Brazilian leave.
For years the Blues would only sanction one-year extensions to players over 30, a policy that was changed when David Luiz (then 31) signing a two-year extension.

It’s the same situation for Willian, 31, and he remains determined to get a three-year contract, even if it means leaving Stamford Bridge.

Asked by Brazilian Youtube channel De Sola whether he would extend his deal at Chelsea, Willian said: “Chelsea only offered me two years and I asked for three. My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years, so I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”

Willian has been linked with a reunion with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourihno at Tottenham.

Mourinho wanted to sign Willian while at Manchester United, and the Brazilian famously snubbed Spurs before joining Chelsea back in 2013.

Arsenal have also been linked with a deal.

“There are rumours about several teams that may be interested,” he continued.

“For the time being, I have had no concrete proposal. But rumours always arise. I’m waiting. My agent hasn’t given me any news yet. I’m waiting for his call.”

Chelsea would reportedly be prepared to sell French midfielder N’Golo

Kante this summer, providing that they receive an offer in the region of €60m (£54.5m).
The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries this season and has not featured in his team’s last three Premier League matches, while a hamstring issue also saw him miss out against Manchester United in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday night.

Kante still has three years left to run on his contract with the Blues but various reports have suggested that the 2018 World Cup winner could be set for a move away from the club.

According to reports in Spain, Chelsea’s summer business, which has already seen them sign Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, means that they are open to the midfielder leaving ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Blues allegedly value the France international in the region of €60m (£54.5m), and Real Madrid are said to be keeping a close eye on developments as they weigh up a move.

Barcelona and Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest in the two-time Premier League title winner
