Alonso speaks out on Chelsea future, reveals retirement plans

“I’m very good there [at Chelsea],” Marcos Alonso told Cadena SER.

“[A]nd also, before I retire, I would like to have the opportunity to play in La Liga. It is not something that feels urgent…

“I feel very good in a great team and fighting for great titles. I have a two-year contract and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

Marcos clearly feels happy as he is having a phenomenal spell under Thomas Tuchel this season.

The wing-back was expected to leave Chelsea in the summer but he stayed and fought for his place.

Based on current form, he looks a better option for the Blues than Ben Chilwell.

Alonso’s desire to try himself in La Liga is understandable as his first game in the Spanish top flight was his only one so far. On April 4, 2010, a 19-year-old Marcos played a couple of minutes as a substitute in Real Madrid’s win against Racing.
