Biggest summer spenders in Premier League revealed – Chelsea only 15th

It was a massive transfer window where Chelsea paid ₤98m for Romelu Lukaku but even that was not the biggest outlay since Man City made Jack Grealish the first English ₤100m player.

The clubs are ranked here not by pure spending but also considering how much they raised through player sales.

Arsenal may be bottom of the table, but they are the biggest spenders this summer as their new signings cost them almost ₤150m. Man United and Man City complete the top three.

Chelsea, however, have sold so many players that they actually made a profit – and the data does not include some youth players the Blues also sold to a hefty profit.

For example, Marc Guehi’s move to Crystal Palace alone cost £21m which would make them the Premier League team that made the biggest profit on the transfer market this summer.
