favourites to retain trophy: Supercomputer predicts Chelsea’s chances of winning Champions League after group stage draw
Chelsea are the current holders of the UEFA Champions League, having beaten Real Madrid and Man City on their way to clinching the big prize last season.
The Blues as such, should be among the favourites to do it again, and according to FiveThirtyEight.com’s super predictive model, Tuchel’s side are among the top 3.
Bizarrely, however, despite losing to Chelsea in the final and never having won it, Man City are again favourites to win it following the group stage draw with 16% chance of winning it all.
Chelsea have a 9% chance of going all the way but are at 92% when it comes to making it out of their group.
Bayern Munich are the other club above Chelsea, though Liverpool, Man United and Real are all below the Blues.
The real surprise has been PSG, who find themselves below the likes of Ajax and RB Leipzig somehow.
