Chelsea, Manchester City make Achraf Hakimi enquiry

Chelsea and Manchester City have both reportedly made enquiries over the availability of Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi.

The 21-year-old has continued to impress during his two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund – registering five goals and ten assists during the 2019-20 Bundesliga campaign.

The defender is supposedly set to return to the Spanish capital this summer, but a host of top sides across Europe have been linked with a swoop for Hakimi in recent weeks.

According to 90Min, Dortmund are hopeful of striking a permanent deal for the right-back, but the German outfit will face a battle with several clubs for his signature.

Indeed, the report claims that Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham Hotspur have all made enquiries, while Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping a close eye on developments.

City are allegedly in the market for a new right-back ahead of the summer transfer window, with Barcelona duo Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto both linked with moves to the Etihad recently.

Lampard hatches ‘plan’ for Rice

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reportedly identified a new position for Declan Rice as he lines up a move for the West Ham starlet.

The 21-year-old, released by the Blues as a teenager, has attracted attention from the west London club, with West Ham understood to be holding out for £70m for the England international.

According to the Transfer Podcast’s Ian McGarry, Lampard sees Rice as a centre-back, rather than a holding midfielder, and wants his “vocal presence” to help lead from the back.

Chelsea boost as Leicester eye Chilwell replacement

Chelsea’s hopes of landing Ben Chilwell have taken a positive step as it is believed Leicester City have identified a possible replacement.

Ironically, the Leicester Mercury report the Foxes are keen on former Chelsea man Ryan Bertrand, now at Southampton, should Chilwell join the Blues.

The Daily Mail believe Frank Lampard is keen to capture the left-back, with a £50m deal in the pipeline for the England international.
