Chelsea, Manchester City to rival Manchester United for Leon Bailey
Chelsea and Manchester City could reportedly battle Manchester United for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey during this summer’s transfer window.
United have allegedly identified Bailey as a potential alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho as the club attempt to bring a new wide player to the club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are ‘seriously interested’ in the Jamaica international, but Chelsea and City are also in the hunt for his signature.
The report claims that all three English clubs will send scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action when Leverkusen face Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal final on July 4.
Bailey, who is thought to be valued by his German side in the region of £40m, has scored seven times and provided three assists in 28 appearances at club level this term.
The attacker’s current deal at the BayArena is due to run until June 2023.
Chelsea ‘learn asking price for Jesus Corona’
Chelsea will reportedly have to come up with an offer of €30m (£27m) if they wish to sign Porto attacker Jesus Corona during this summer’s transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been in impressive form for his Portuguese club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring four times and contributing 17 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
A number of clubs, including Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been credited with an interest in the Mexico international, who largely operates as a right winger.
According to A Bola, Corona has a €30m (£27m) release clause in his current deal at the Estadio do Dragao and will not be allowed to leave unless the buy-out figure is met.
The report claims that Frank Lampard’s side are interested in a summer deal, although a number of other teams are also said to be closely monitoring developments.
Corona has scored four times and registered 10 assists in 27 Liga NOS outings this term.
