Arsenal confident of Willian deal despite despite rivalry from Manchester United

Premier League outfit Arsenal are optimistic of completing a deal to sign Willian, according to ESPN Brazil.

The Chelsea man is open to staying at Stamford Bridge but only if the club agree to hand him a new three-year deal.

Manchester United are also monitoring developments at Chelsea, but the Gunners believe they are leading the race with Willian happy and settled in London.

Chelsea have tried to tempt the Brazil international to stay with the offer of a two-year extension but he is looking for a longer deal.

Chelsea to complete and announce Kai Havertz deal soon

Kai Havertz wants to join Chelsea – and according to Leroy Sane, the Bayer Leverkusen star may already be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Sane told reporters: “It’s good for Chelsea, that they signed two German top talents with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz this summer.”

Havertz returns to Leverkusen training but still pushing for Chelsea move

Kai Havertz joined his Bayer Leverkusen team-mates as they returned to training in preparation of the Europa League’s return next month, report Sky Sports.

The midfielder remains keen to join Chelsea, however, having told the Gerrman club he wants to leave this summer.
While Havertz was reportedly one of the first players to emerge onto the training pitch, Leverkusen are reportedly willing to sell with just two years remaining on the 21-year-old’s contract.

Leverkusen expect Havertz to play against Rangers in two weeks’ time, however.

Reports elsewhere claim that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the Germany international.

Chelsea in hunt for Atletico Madrid defender Gimenez

Chelsea are monitoring Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, according to The Telegraph.

Frank Lampard has already made additions further up the field this summer and will turn his attention to the defence once Kai Havertz is over the line.

It comes after Jamie Carragher warned: “You see a lot of centre halves at Chelsea without seeing one really outstanding one, those are the areas that if they are going to challenge Liverpool and Man City they’ll have to rectify in the summer.
“They are the worst team in the league defending corners. This is a massive problem for Chelsea.”
