It was a tough game between the blues and crystal palace yesterday in which was able to narrowly secure a win against eagle palace to secure third position in the premier league table with five points ahead European cup position (5th position) occupied by Manchester united.


Chelsea was the mind set of securing a win so they can maintain their position in the top four that will guarantee them a champions league qualification while the Eagles were dreaming of European cup until a three straight defeat swing them to 14th position in the table but they have a mindset o finishing strong.


The match was played behind closed door at Selurst Park, the eagle’s home. Chelsea played without Kante, Tomori Fikayo and Kovacic due to their injury status but was lucky enough to had win the match with 2 goals to 3 from Chelsea.


The blues line up with Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, James, Mason Mount, Barkey, Billy Gilmour, Pulisic, Giroud and willian on a 4-3-3 formation.

Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, Jorginho, Tammy Abraham, Rodriquez, Loftus-ceek, Caballlero, Hudson-Odoi and Batshuayi for substitutes.


The blues had the first opening goal in the 6th minute of the first half. An assist came from Willian and the Goal was netted by Giroud to secure an early need for the blues.

Crystal Palace made an immediate substitution to tighten up their defense.
The Blues continue to show dominance and maintain a good ball possession ratio in the match. In the 27th minute of the first half, another assist came from willian to Pulisic which he converted to goal to maintain the lead.


There was a goal from Crystal Palace at the 34th minute by Zaha which boost the chance of not losing another match for the eagles. A foul was committed by Crystal Palace and a yellow card issued to Milivojevic, a midfielder.


Chelsea maintain the lead in the first 45 minutes of the match with much ball possession and without any substitution.

At this point fans are already complaining of the weakness in Chelsea defense. Fans are flaunting the social media expressing their disappointment in kepa and the defense.

Frank Lampard initial substitutions in the second half of the game, bringing in Tammy Abraham and taking out Giroud, bringing in Loftus-Cheek and taking out R. Barkley in the 65 and minutes of the match.

Crystal Palace maintain their current team.
Chelsea Had the 3 goal in the 71 minute, an assist from R. Loftus-Cheek and netted by Tammy Abraham to give 1 – 3 lead for the blues. Chelsea was still in possession and showing the spirit of victory with three goals to 1.


At the 72 minutes of the second half, Crystal Palace netted their second goal to increase their score board to 2 – 3. There was another attempt by the eagles to equalize but thanks to Zouma that came through to clear off the ball.


With the victory, Chelsea clinched third position in the table with five point ahead Manchester United, one point ahead Leicester City.

Chelsea Manager, Frank Lampard credited the impacts made by Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham for their goal in the match, he further stated that, it will be great for Tammy’s confidence as he didn’t score since the restart of the league.


The boss further praise Zouma and Kepa that they both made points-winning contributions. The boss Frank Lampard is particularly pleased with the goalkeeper who showed his value to the side at such a decisive moment in a tight game.


Ruben Loftus-Cheek celebrate their victory by with a tweet in his twitter handle saying “Good to experirnce playing back at Selhurst park again. Most importantly Win and 3 points.”


Billy Gilmour tweeted “A battle today.. Big 3 points”. Cesar Azipilicueta tweeted “3 points On to Saturday!” with a power smile.
