The Senegalese keeper has kept 27 clean sheets in his first 47 games at the club, bringing him uncannily close to a Petr Cech record.

The Chelsea legend had 28 clean sheets in his first 48 games after he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

After a few seasons without a settled top keeper, it is wonderful to have Mendy between the sticks carrying on Cech’s legacy
