I told Tuchel the last three months were too difficult’: Giroud explains why he left Chelsea

Olivier Giroud was very good as a back-up and sometimes starting striker for the Blues, contributing to some crucial goals in his time at the Bridge.

However the Frenchman moved on to AC Milan in the summer and now he’s opened up to Football Italia about his departure.

Giroud said: “I liked the Premier League, but at some point, I had to make a decision. I told Tuchel that the last three months had been too difficult.

“It was an obvious choice to leave Chelsea, I moved on with great emotion for all the moments we lived. Some were good, some others not as much, but we won three important titles.”

While the return of Lukaku erased the pain of losing Giroud’s quality, he will be fondly remembered by most Chelsea fans.
