Norwich City have appointed Dean Smith as their new manager and that gives some hope to Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour for more playing time.

Asked to comment on whether Gilmour (and Todd Cantwell) will get more minutes, Smith said: “[They have] a big role [to play], along with the rest of the squad.

“It’s a new start for them in terms of a new coaching team coming in. We’ll get to see them tomorrow in training and it’s down to them to get into the team.”

Gilmour has been out of the playing XI for quite some time now. He got four Premier League starts under former boss Daniel Farke but has barely received any playing time since then.

Hopefully, Smith has been watching Scotland’s games and we’re sure Gilmour will impress him in training
